Comano, in Giudicarie Esteriori, is perhaps one of the most renowned centres for the treatment of skin and respiratory diseases. Immersions in fresh fermenting grass (hay baths) for treating rheumatic and post traumatic disease can be taken in Garniga, a small village on the foothills of Monte Bondone, where the miraculous grass is cut every day.

Comano Terme

This spa centre (400 metres a.s.l.) is open from April to October and is specific for the treatment of skin complaints (dermatology, cosmetology and skin nutrition) and of disorders of the respiratory tract and the peripheral vasculatory system. The source of this health-giving water bubbles up from deep under the dolomite rock of the Brenta Group of mountains; it is low in mineral content and contains bicarbonate, calcium and magnesium with traces of fluoride and has a constant temperature of 28° C. The main treatment carried out at the Comano Spa Baths is balneotherapy, recommended for almost all skin complaints and particularly the various forms of eczema and psoriasis, the latter also being treated with balneophototherapy. Comano's water, vaporised with inhalations, aerosol sprays and nasal douches, treats the inflammatory process of the respiratory tract, nose and sinus ailments, allergic hypertrophic and atrophic rhinitis, infectious chronic rhinitis and rhinosinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis and tracheobronchitis. Other therapies includes hydromassage (to treat venous and lymphatic insufficiency of the lower limbs), massotherapy, lymph drainage, pressotherapy, mesotherapy and mineral water drinking.
